About the Artist

 

Aleah Washington is a Dallas, Texas native who currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri. She creates abstract work using bodily forms and quilting techniques focusing on exploring identity, environment and community. With a playful approach to collage, ideas of unity builds strength among people while reflection of history exposes a vulnerable history of land. She will receive her BFA degree from the Kansas City Art Institute in May 2022.
